On Fire

I chose to stand there as I saw the flame roar.

The fierce, beautiful and dangerous flame which set my soul on fire..

I was paralyzed.

Now I feel I should have guarded myself better. After all, it was fire. It was hell.

All it did was burn me into ashes and leave at the same spot.

I am still paralyzed.

I stood as the wind blew

As the wind blew against me
I stood still as I knew

The dust and the leaves

And my fear was gone
